High School Football Matchups of the Week

high school football matchups thanksgiving week
Welcome to another week of high school football matchups!

It’s Thanksgiving week, which means millions of Americans will be gathering around the dinner table to celebrate our many reasons to be thankful. Whether you’re celebrating in person or remotely, we hope you have a fantastic time with friends and family!

At Guardian, we are incredibly thankful for all the great teams and coaches in pursuit of excellence on and off the field! If you’re free on Black Friday, grab some leftovers and check out our favorite games across the country.

Dutch Fork High School (SC) #1 in State vs. Sumter High School (SC) #6 in State

Dutch Fork High School is one of the premier programs in the country. The Silver Foxes have won four straight South Carolina State Championships and could possibly be on their way to a 5th. The Silver Foxes, led by coach Tom Knots, are the #16 ranked team in the country. Notable talent for Dutch Fork includes Will Taylor (ATH, Clemson Commit) and Elijah Spencer (WR, Charlotte Commit).

Sumter High School has also had a wildly successful season with an 8-0 undefeated record. Their defense is especially talented and has kept their opponents to under 10 points in five of their eight games. We will be on the lookout for Justus Boone (SDE, Florida Commit), Miles Capers (WDE, Undecided), and Deshawn McKnight (OLB, Appalachian State Commit).

Bryant High School (AR) #1 in State vs. Conway High School (AR) #7 in State

The Bryant Hornets will come into this game as the top team in the state of Arkansas and #33 ranked team in the country. The Hornets won consecutive state championships in 2018 and 2019, and could be on their way to a third title. The undefeated Hornets knocked off Conway earlier in November, but beating a team twice in one season is always challenging.

The Conway Wampus Cats (fantastic mascot name) will line up for the second time against the Bryant Hornets. The Wampus Cats have had a great season with a 9-3 record. Be on the lookout for Bryce Bohanon (WR, Tulane Commit) to stretch the field with some big plays.

Center Grove High School (IN) #1 in State vs. Westfield High School (IN) #3 in State

Center Grove will come into this game as the #1 team in the state of Indiana, and the #19 team in the country. The Trojans have been largely uncontested all year, with big wins in nearly all of their 13 games. The Trojans are led by Austin Booker (SDE, Minnesota Commit), Carter Degraaf (OT, Illinois State Commit), and Jackson Schott (LB, Miami of Ohio Commit).

The Westfield Shamrocks have had a great season, including a 12-0 win streak, after losing the first game of the year. The Shamrocks’ offense has dominated all year. They put up 41 points last week in a win over Merriville. This is going to be a great game, played in the historic Lucas Oil Stadium!

Best of luck to all the teams playing this weekend. We hope you have another great night under the lights!
