Our re-engineered Pearl X lacrosse balls are made here in the USA with a special elastomer that crosslinks at the time of manufacture preventing them from greasing over time. Pearl X balls meet the softer, safer NOCSAE spec.
Pearl X lacrosse balls were engineered in 2015 to address the greasing issue with rubber lacrosse balls. The Guardian team engineered an elastomer that prevents greasing and introduced the American made Pearl X greaseless game day ball. Traditional rubber lacrosse balls are made from vulcanized rubber (same material as car tires) and added chemical plasticizers. This rubber is a material subject to change over time which is accelerated by environmental factors such as temperature, sun exposure, precipitation, and friction. During the manufacturing process of a standard lacrosse ball, chemical plasticizers are added to the vulcanized rubber in an effort to soften the ball, and over time, these fillers will gradually separate from the rubber, creating the slickness of the surface and hardening of the overall ball (i.e same reason you have to replace your tires every 50k miles).
If the product is broken or not suitable for play due to a manufacturing defect, within 30 days of being ordered, it may be eligible for replacement. In all cases, replacements are handled with Guardian directly. Any defects must be manufacturer defects and not scratches, discoloration, or dings due to game or practice play. An original proof of purchase is required for warranty. Once an exchange is authorized by the Guardian team, it will be necessary for the customer to mail, at their expense, the defective ball. Once received, if the ball is deemed to be defective due to manufacturing defect, a replacement will be sent at the manufacturer’s expense and the damaged ball becomes the property of the manufacturer.
Pearl X lacrosse balls are SEI certified, meet NOCSAE®/NFHS/NCAA standards and are official for game play.
